Different banks have different policies for business customers authorising NACH Debit eMandates.
The destination banks that are live for eMandates have connected their retail netbanking login systems. Therefore, it is not possible for a customer who is using corporate netbanking to authorise an eMandate. The alternative is to take a physical mandate.
Note that many destination banks classify proprietorships and small and medium sized businesses as retail customers and thus give them access to retail netbanking.
For those business customers that do have access to retail netbanking, banks may apply further prerequisites for authorising an eMandate, e.g. transaction rights required, and mode of operation should be singly, such as 'Either or Survivor' or 'Any or Survivor'.
This is regardless of whether the bank account is a savings account or a current account.
